Norn Family Breakdown
Children (Eldest to Youngest)
Thrasszhera 'Zera' Sh'Norn: incredibly beautiful for traditional Andorian values. Was spoiled a lot as the First child (is a few years older than her next youngest sibling and only 3/4ths related to the rest of the kids). She spent so long growing up being assured she'd get a Good Match that she got a bit of an ego about being a Catch. Her first three relationships have failed spectacularly for one reason or another but hasn't let that stop her from getting arranged for a fourth. Her parents aren't so sure given how the group never seems to do anything but argue whenever they're visiting.
Jhatia Sh'Norn: Fought a lot with her elder sister growing up and went full tomboy so people would stop comparing her to Zera. Left Hanolan for the military academy as soon as she was old enough to apply but had a bit of a breakdown being so far from home with no safety net. Ended up failing out of the military academy due to substance abuse and has been in and out of rehab since. Last Kav heard from her she's been clean for about 7 months and is rooming with a friend of the family while she tries to get her feet underneath her to find a place of her own. Has only had casual Non-Andorians for relationships as she's not really emotionally willing to slog through the uphill battle she'd have to face in order to find anything decent owing to her less than stellar past. Gets along decently with Zera and Kav now, but feels uncomfortable around her youngest two siblings, especially Pyma. Often asks Kav or Zera to act as her go-between for anyone else in the family.
Shrohkav 'Kav' Ch'Norn: It's our guy! Is closer in age to Zera and Jhatia than he is his younger siblings. Was left alone when he was younger for the most part owing to being 'the good one' of the kids but when his younger siblings started out performing him in their studies and interests he got overlooked even harder as all the focus of the family shifted to the younger kids. He became something of a 'lost cause' insofar as the family was concerned once Kav was old enough to start being urged to attend Socials to attempt to find partners. He's done everything he could to get out of them and has shown next to no interest in anyone who has tried to get to know him. He claims he was turned down for the military academy on Andoria but in truth he never applied. He only sent his submission into Starfleet and left Hanolan for Earth as soon as he was accepted and has been happy enough to integrate into the fleet ever since.
Torpyma 'Pyma' Sh'Norn: In her last year of the military Academy on Andoria with a focus in shield systems arrays. This will likely earn her a post on the home world as a defense systems tech until she is able to work up the ranks. She's been in a committed relationship for the last three years with two other cadets she met during her first year. Much of her free time is spent actively seeking a fourth so they can formalize their new family. Pyma feels a huge amount of pressure on her shoulders to do her part in continuing the family's legacy where her older siblings have failed (or refused, in Kav's case). Though she cares about them she often loses her patience in dealing with them due to her frustrations of being expected to perform while the elder siblings seemingly are free to do whatever they please without much input from their parents.
Bylaath Th'Norn: Top of his class in secondary school. Has already been accepted into several major universities on Andoria, as well as Starfleet. Doesn't plan on attending Starfleeet--it was his backup choice in case he was rejected from his main picks under the thought that if they accepted his older brother they'd definitely take him. His interest is intensely military focused given the recent political unrest in the Federation. Wants to focus in Security. He's begun recently letting his parents drag him off to Social events to begin networking. He's old enough to be interested in meeting new people, but is far more invested in securing himself a path into officer's school so he can one day be assigned a position in the Imperial Guard. Blyaath's not especially close with any of his siblings save for perhaps Pyma, though Kav used to help him with his studies before he enlisted in Starfleet.
Parents (no particular order):
Abhaseb 'Abe' Th'Norn (deceased): One of Zera's original fathers and a former teacher. A dispute with their extended family ended in an Ushaan honor duel where Abe unfortunately passed away due to medical complications after his defeat.
Sabar Th'Norn (formerly Th'Karit): One of the Norn family's neighbors on Hanolan and a good friend of the family. Ex-military and single, he'd been more than willing to join with the Norn family after Abe's passing and mourning. He's about as old as Jyrii and hasn't ever quite been able to keep up with his children though he does try.
Essorin 'Rin' Ch'Norn: Works in logistics for one of Hanolan colony's major food suppliers. He's the youngest of the parents and most often the one in charge of rounding them up and managing their affairs. Hasn't given up on helping Zera or Jhatia find suitable partners even though the rest of the parental unit has turned the bulk of their attention to Pyma and Bylaath.
Toazeth 'Toa' Sh'Norn: Professor at the small university on Hanolan in the Computer Science department. Worries constantly that Jhyrii is trying to do too much on her own and thus spends much of her free time reaching out to their family friends and professional associates on behalf of their children to try and arrange meetings for them. She's a source of some strife between the elder daughters owing to the many years Zera and Jhatia fell back on the family for help rather than trying to get their lives in order. Recently they've started to talk more for the first time in years.
Jhyrii Zh'Norn: Matriarch of the Norn family and often the one most decisions end up going through approval for. Used to work in education before taking an early retirement when managing the family's affairs became a full time job. She was born and raised on Andoria but left for the colonies when the harsh military leanings of her home world grew to be too uncomfortable to consider raising a family in. She cares about her family dearly but regrets not taking a more active role in her elder children's' upbringing. Has instead turned into something of a helicopter parent to the younger two though with how busy she is she is still incredibly scatterbrained.
